Oshkosh Corporation highlights zero-emission vehicles and technologies at 2023 Advanced Clean Transportation Expo
5/2/23
Attendees experience industry-leading electrified fleet vehicles
OSHKOSH, Wis. (May 2, 2023) – Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE: OSK), a leading innovator of purpose-built vehicles and equipment, is exhibiting select battery electric vehicle innovations at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo this week in Anaheim, California.
With nearly 30 years of electrification experience and a planned $300M investment in electrification over the next several years, Oshkosh has introduced and continues to advance purpose-built, battery-electric vehicles in its end markets. Recent product innovations include the:
- Pierce® Volterra™ fire truck
- Oshkosh Striker® Volterra™ ARFF
- JLG® DaVinci™ scissor lift
- Oshkosh fully integrated, electric refuse collection vehicle
- United States Postal Service Next Generation Delivery Vehicle (NGDV)
Oshkosh, a leader in hybrid and battery electric technologies, launched North America’s first fully integrated, zero-emission electric refuse collection vehicle (eRCV) in January. The vehicle features a sophisticated drivetrain that includes advanced lithium-ion batteries and an e-axle architecture, offering full route operation on a single charge. The Oshkosh eRCV will be highlighted at the show in a mixed reality experience.
Also on display will be the world’s first all-electric scissor lift, the JLG DaVinci, which is fully optimized to reduce energy consumption and eliminate hydraulic leaks. It is powered by a single lithium-ion battery and can be fully charged in as little as three and a half hours, compared to traditional electric-powered lifts that require three times longer to charge.
In addition to the featured products at ACT Expo, Oshkosh launched North America’s first zero-emission electric fire truck in 2021, the Pierce® Volterra™ pumper. The truck operates on a patented parallel-electric drivetrain powered by integrated onboard batteries that enable full shift operation.
“Electrification is one of our five key innovation focus areas,” said John Pfeifer, president and chief executive officer of Oshkosh Corporation. “We continue to advance our technological capabilities in this area to bring industry-leading solutions to our customers that enhance performance, improve safety and lower total cost of ownership, while bringing sustainability benefits to communities around the world.”
Oshkosh Corp. has been developing fully electric and hybrid electric vehicles across a wide variety of industries since the 1990s. For more information on Oshkosh electrification technology, please visit oshkoshcorp.com or stop by Oshkosh Corporation booth #5677 at ACT Expo.
