Driving environmental progress

At Oshkosh, we believe in building a better world – not just through innovation but through action. As a leader in designing, manufacturing and supporting essential vehicle systems and equipment, we’re committed to making a difference. Our next bold step: setting ambitious science-based targets to reduce our environmental impact, aligned with the latest climate science.

Our commitment

Climate change is one of the most critical challenges of our time, and we’re committed to being part of the solution. With the approval of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), Oshkosh has set clear, science-driven goals to help significantly reduce our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across our value chain.

SHORT-TERM TARGETS

  • Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 57.7% by 2033 from a 2021 base year.
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 32.5% by 2033 from a 2022 base year, covering key areas from purchased goods, services and use of sold products.

LONG-TERM TARGETS

  • Reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2021 base year.
  • Reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year, covering key areas from purchased goods, services and use of sold products.

Why science-based targets matter

Our targets aren’t just ambitious – they’re science-backed. The SBTi ensures that our climate goals are grounded in the latest research and aligned with the Paris Agreement's goal to limit global warming to well below 2°C, while striving to keep it to 1.5°C. By adopting these targets, Oshkosh is taking bold steps toward a low-carbon economy, ensuring that we are part of the solution to the climate crisis.

A COMMITMENT TO ACTION

We understand that real change requires more than just setting goals. It’s about action – reducing emissions, rethinking how we work and innovation to create more sustainable solutions for our customers and the world. We’re proud to join the global community working toward a net-zero future and are committed to being transparent about our progress along the way.
