Military

Our commitment to supporting our nation’s heroes extends well beyond the vehicles we build. We’re honored to employ many talented veterans, guards, reserves and military spouses among our ranks as part of the Oshkosh family. Recognized as a Military Friendly Employer, Oshkosh Corporation employs more than 1,100 veterans and military servicemembers who bring exemplary values and unmatched expertise to our organization.

Every year since 2011, Oshkosh Corporation has been recognized by VIQTORY as a Military Friendly Employer.

John Pfeifer, President and Chief Executive Officer

"We proudly welcome our military heroes and are committed to supporting their transition while helping them realize their full potential. They bring dedication, unique perspectives and diverse talents to the Oshkosh Corporation family. Like the brave men and women of the U.S. military, we adhere to a strong set of core values that guide us in everything we do. We put people first. We do the right thing. We persevere. We are better together."

Hiring our heroes

Our commitment to veterans starts with Hiring Our Heroes. Oshkosh is one of the first Wisconsin partners in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s groundbreaking program, participating in a twelve-week fellowship program that matches transitioning servicemembers with civilian opportunities. Participating servicemembers are matched with a civilian program manager and mentor in their final 180 days of active duty, working Monday-Thursday with their corporate employer to gain professional training and hands-on experience that prepares them to join the civilian workforce.

Meet our fellow, Karen

We’re committed to supporting our nation’s heroes through cross-functional opportunities and thoughtful support while servicemembers prepare to join the civilian workforce. Team member Karen, HR Services Specialist, shares her Hiring Our Heroes experience with us and how Oshkosh Corporation has supported her through her transition.

My internship as a team coordinator with our Defense business was very similar to being a platoon leader. Upon college graduation, I was hired full time as a team coordinator and am now a program manager in Risk Management.”

Pierce, Simplification Program Manager

Through the Hiring Our Heroes program, Oshkosh let me work for 12 weeks so I could understand the company and make an informed decision about my career path. I quickly realized I wanted to work at Oshkosh Defense and was honored when they offered me a full-time position.”

Supporting our nation's heroes

Cross-functional opportunities

At Oshkosh Corporation, veterans work across a variety of roles, spanning operations, global product development, safety, product management, marketing, sales and more. With former servicemembers represented at every level of the company from entry-level to the board, the sky’s the limit for career growth.

Thoughtful transition support

The Oshkosh Corporation Military Network provides veterans, reservists and national guard members (along with their spouses) considerable resources to support the transition from in-service to on the job.

Recruit, Rally and Recognize

In addition to working to recruit servicemembers to Oshkosh, the OCMN offers career coaching, mentoring and an opportunity to connect with servicemembers across the company—all part of our efforts to Recruit, Rally and Recognize current and former servicemembers across the organization.

A celebration of service

Throughout the year, Oshkosh Corporation holds a variety of veteran-focused events, including our Veterans Day breakfast, 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb and flag placements throughout the communities we serve.

Oshkosh Corporation is committed to working with and offering reasonable accommodation to job applicants with disabilities. If you need assistance or an accommodation due to disability for any part of the employment process, please contact us at corporatetalentacquisition@oshkoshcorp.com.
